Banana Puree
Jun 27, 2020
To prepare the recipe for Puré de Banana Macho you need the following ingredients:
- 3 male bananas with some black spots
- 4 tablespoons of butter
- ¾ cup of Mexican cream
- Salt to taste
PREPARATION
Cut off the tips of the bananas and place them in a large pot. Cover with hot and cold water over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil, then simmer until cooked. Depending on how ripe the bananas are, they will take between 10 and 15 minutes. They should be soft to the touch and the skin will begin to divide on some of its sides.
Remove them from the pot, drain the excess water and let cool until you can handle them. Remove their shells.
Put the bananas in a frying pan and, with the help of a bean masher or a potato masher, mash them to form a puree. You can also use the bottom of a thick glass tumbler to complete this step.
Now, turn the heat up to medium high and add the butter. Stir well, allowing it to melt, then mix the cream and season with salt. Usually, the texture is more like a paste than a smooth puree, but you can add more cream or butter if you want. Once everything is well mixed and heated, it is ready to be served. Enjoy!
Notes: Please make sure your bananas are ripe, but firm when touched.
